JD Gyms to launch £1.5m Rochdale fitness centre
Fitness centre chain JD Gyms has announced plans to launch a new £1.5m gym in Rochdale.
The firm, which is part of retail giant JD Sports Fashion plc, has signed a 25-year lease for space at Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre.
The 26,000 sq ft, fully refurbished unit will be JD Gyms’ first site in Greater Manchester.
Real estate investment firm LaSalle Investment Management secured the deal.
LaSalle asset manager Charlotte Watkins said: “We have enjoyed a period of tremendous growth and success in the region, underlined by our commitment to invest in the future development of this scheme.
“The agreement with JD Gyms to locate its first premises in Greater Manchester at Rochdale Exchange demonstrates the success of our proactive asset management as well as continued investment into the centre, ensuring it meets the needs of the local catchment.”
LaSalle was advised by property consultants Green & Partners and Barker Proudlove during the transaction.
JD Gyms’ Rochdale facility is due to open in April.
