Black Velvet Lingerie Launches In The North East
Fashion, cocktails and an abundance glamour, on Saturday night (13th February) the fashion elite descended upon Newcastle to see the launch of brand new North East lingerie company, Black Velvet.
The premier cocktail lounge The Assembly Rooms was buzzing with the region’s most influential figures in fashion to celebrate the grand unveiling of the collection, once again firmly cementing the North East at the forefront of emerging style.
The decadent venue played perfect host as guests were treated to an exclusive catwalk preview of a stunning compilation of the ‘After Dark’ lingerie, swimwear and kaftans shown off on an array beautiful models, all while sipping on a signature ‘Black Velvet’ cocktail infusion of Zing Vodka, Chambord, lemon and raspberry served with black fruit caviars in an ice cove.
With a wealth of fashion and sales experience between them, heading the event were Black Velvet’s founders and designers, Alessandra Bersan and Margaux Wild.
The two are making the luxury more affordable, and the collection will be hitting stores and boutiques across the region very soon, as well as being available to view for wholesalers on the Black Velvet website: http://www.blkvelvet.com/.
Individually handpicked by the creators, they’re bringing glamour to the high street with each piece adorned in delicate embroidery and embellished with an understated but elegant dusting of gems oozing opulence through each seam.
Pops of neon swimwear and sultry lingerie took lead of the night in this debut collection, while kaftans with matching clutches completed the looks, taking you from beach to bedroom.
More about the founders:
Hailing from South Africa, sales manager Margaux now resides in Newcastle after 14 years of working for some of the world’s biggest brands. With the likes of Unilever, Red Bull and Galaxy Radio under her belt, Margaux will be extending her vast skills in sales and wholesale, as well as her unwavering passion for style, lending itself to a collaborative effort in designing each collection and pushing Black Velvet to its much deserved success.
Italian-born fashion designer and product manager Alessandra has built up many years of experience in the fashion sphere. Working with some of the biggest fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana, Cavalli, Calvin Klein and Diesel, she has a keen eye for detail and quality that few others possess. Aside from co-designing each piece, Alessandra works closely with production to ensure that every stitch, hook and strap is perfect from start to finish.
