Stockton’s Mobile Mini to invest in fleet and headcount following record results
Stockton-headquartered Mobile Mini, a hirer of portable accommodation and secure storage containers, has revealed new investment plans for 2016 after announcing record results for its UK business.
The firm, which bases its global operations out of Arizona, has reported an annual income of £57.6m for 2015, a 9.5% increase on the previous year.
The increase comes as Mobile Mini UK reveals it invested £14m on growing its fleet of rental units. The company added almost 3,000 units to its fleet of steel storage containers, portable offices, canteens and toilets, growing its fleet to more than 35,000, operated across sixteen UK depots stretching from Glasgow to Southampton.
£2.5m was also invested in new fuel-efficient delivery trucks giving the company one of the biggest HGV fleets of its kind in the UK.
2016 is likely to see further investment in Mobile Mini’s rental fleet, with the company also planning to expand its product range.
Additionally, £3.7m will be invested throughout 2016 in a further eight new crane arm loader lorries, taking the total number of delivery trucks to 50. An expanding fleet of delivery vehicles will give Mobile Mini more flexibility in meeting its customers’ needs.
Continued investment in its growing workforce, which has grown from 366 to 393 in the past year, will include new driver positions and a training and development programme for all its existing employees.
Chris Morgan, Managing Director at Mobile Mini, commented: “It’s been another successful year for Mobile Mini here in the UK, with investments in our people, products and equipment continuing to drive growth.
“ Our focus on putting the customer at the heart of everything we do means we are confident we can deliver the high quality products our customers need, when they need them.“
“We’re determined to maintain our market leading position by continuing to invest in growing and refurbishing our fleet, as well as in our talented team of people.”
