Former college site in Burnley comes to market
A large plot of land in Burnley that was once used by both Blessed Trinity High School and Ivy Bank Business and Enterprise College has come to market.
The Manchester office of real estate firm CBRE is now seeking a residential developer for the the 25-acre site, which is located west of Kiddrow Lane (A646) between Burnley and Padiham.
Lancashire Regeneration Property Partnership, a joint venture between Lancashire County Council and construction services firm Carillion, has promoted the land for redevelopment.
CBRE’s Manchester-based senior surveyor, Rebecca Harper, said: “This extensive site offers a unique opportunity to create an aspirational development in a well-connected and attractive location within Burnley.
“The redevelopment of this key site could make a significant contribution to both the long-term regeneration of the area and the local housing requirements and we anticipate high levels of interest.”
Earlier this month, building firm Eric Wright Construction was chosen to deliver a multi-million pound ‘super block’ free school on the site formerly occupied by Habergham High School in Burnley.
