Warburtons’ Newcastle plans set to rise following council approval
Warburtons’ Newcastle bakery, based on Newburn Industrial Estate, is in line for an extension after plans were met by council green light.
With planning permission granted, tenders are now being considered for an extra 4,220 sq.ft. plan drawn up by North East architects practice ADG Architects.
Project completion will allow the family-owned bakery business to increase production of its ‘Free From’ range of wheat and gluten free bread, wraps, rolls, sandwich thins and muffins, produced in Newburn.
Mr Kelly, who designed the extension plans, said: “This is another important project for Warburtons to extend their dedicated gluten free bakery, so I am delighted that we have achieved planning consent.”
Warburtons is a long-standing client of ADG Architects. Mr Kelly has worked closely with Warburtons’ Head of Operations Graeme Tough on a number of projects.
Mr Tough said: “I have worked with ADG Architects for over seven years. They are utterly reliable, and fantastically supportive from concept, through to final implementation on any build project.”
