Good morning North East! Start your week off with a roundup of the latest appointments from across the region.

Anthony Broadhead, Jackson Hogg

Recruitment firm Jackson Hogg has announced the appointment of Anthony Broadhead as Director.

Anthony, a consultant with eight years’ experience in the industry, joins the Newcastle-based firm after leading the energy team as a Divisional Manager with another regionally based recruiter.

Anthony joins Managing Director Richard Hogg, a qualified mechanical engineer with a wealth of experience in recruitment, and the team at its office on Newcastle’s iconic Quayside.

Anthony said: “I’m hugely excited to join Jackson Hogg, where my desire to focus purely on the highest quality service for candidates and clients are not only matched but encouraged. Richard Smith, Tharsus

Tharsus Group has expanded its senior management team with the appointment of experienced engineering professional Richard Smith as new Chief Operating Officer.

Richard joins the Blyth-based company in this newly-created role, to support growth ambitions and maintain its competitive edge in Original Equipment Design and Manufacture (OEDM), an outsourcing service which includes; product design, development and contract manufacture.

With more than 25 years’ experience across heavy industry and the automotive sector, Richard brings a wealth of experience in areas such as production management and project development.

He said: “I am looking forward to helping the company achieve its growth ambitions by maximising current customers’ potential and working with more ground-breaking technologies in the near future. Tharsus has carved out a strong niche and has a huge benefit in having the North East’s renowned skilled workforce on its doorstep.”

Paul Collingwood, Sintons

Paul Collingwood has joined Newcastle law firm Sintons as a private client lawyer, in the firm’s esteemed Wills and Probate team.

Paul Collingwood, who previously worked with Paul Nickalls at DWF, said: “Sintons has a reputation for its strong commitment to providing a personal client service, which is something that really appealed to me as that is exactly my approach.

“The team is known for its quality and ability to take on the most complex cases, while retaining its client-focused approach at all times, and I am delighted to become part of it. Paul Nickalls is an outstanding private client lawyer and I am of course very pleased to be working with him again.”

Keith Stephenson, Nortech Group

Nortech Group, the Wynyard-based professional engineering design and project management company, has promoted an experienced industry professional to the role of Engineering Director to lead the firm’s continued growth in the chemical and petrochemical sectors.

Keith Stephenson, 57, who is from Middlesbrough, has over 35 years’ experience in the petrochemical, oil & gas (onshore and offshore), nuclear, biochemical and utility businesses across Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and USA.

Keith, who joined Nortech Group in September 2013 as Engineering Manager, said: “Nortech Group is constantly growing and developing with its talented staff, so I am delighted to have been asked to contribute to that continuing success.

“I am committed to help drive the company forward into these exciting and dynamic markets. We have a fantastic team here at Nortech that is helping us to grow and innovate into a wide variety of markets.”

Ian Johnson and Willis, Gospelware

Gospelware is expanding its team with the announcement of two new hires - project manager Ian Johnson, and software engineer Andrew Willis.

Ian Johnson joins the Newcastle-based digital product specialist as a former project manager of software giant Sage, bringing with him 16 years of experience.Ian will be responsible for managing budgets, and timescales amongst his general planning activities.

Andrew joins Gospelware as an experienced software developer, specialising in backend web development. Having worked at local tech companies Mobious and Ground Six, he has slotted in seamlessly with the rest of the team adding another colourful personality to the company’s culture.

Michael Dunn, Gospelware Commercial Director, said: “It’s an exciting time for us at Gospelware. We’ve got some really interesting and technically challenging projects coming up which we can’t wait to talk about.

“Ian and Andrew will be working on these with us, so having them on board is a great thing, they’re brilliant additions to our team.”
