West Yorkshire construction firm wins £20m worth of new contracts
A Yorkshire-based construction company has won almost £20m worth of new contracts since the start of the year.
hcm Projects, which is part of Wakefield-based Harris Construction Management, will soon begin work on four major projects located throughout the UK.
At Beckton, in East London, hcm Projects will carry out a £10m upgrade to Britvic Soft Drinks’ production and warehouse facility. Britvic is one of the largest suppliers of both still and carbonated soft drinks in the UK and produces brands including Robinsons, Tango and J20.
This scheme follows hcm Projects completing the infrastructure and enabling works at the plant alongside a similar project at another Britvic site in Rugby.
hcm Projects has also been appointed by BMO Real Estate Partners to extend and remodel Primark’s Grimsby store in Freshney Place Shopping Centre, as part of a £4m contract.
In addition, Henry Boot Developments Limited has awarded hcm Projects a £2m contract to extend an existing B&M store at Belper in Derbyshire, which will create two new retail units and result in 40 new jobs in the town.
The company is also due to start work on a £1m, two storey extension at Sandal MINI on Dewsbury Road in Wakefield, which will create a new showroom area and offices.
Danny Mulqueen, managing director at hcm Projects, said: “We enjoyed record turnover in 2015 and these contract wins are the best way of ensuring this growth trend continues in 2016. We’re also delighted to be winning such a diverse range of work, which is testimony to our versatility and competitive pricing policy.
“These project wins give us a strong pipeline of work and we are now in the process of submitting tenders for a number of other exciting projects, with both new and existing clients, which will help to drive our expansion throughout the rest of the year.”
hcm Projects employs a team of over 50 and predominantly operates in the private sector delivering industrial, commercial, residential and retail schemes. The company grew turnover to £43m in 2015.
