Expanding tech startup to boost Manchester’s property sector

Three Northern entrepreneurs have today (March 3) launched a new information-sharing network for Manchester’s property sector.

The digital platform, called edozo, will allow professionals working in the city’s commercial property market to share detailed property transaction records, potentially overcoming the limitations set by current data-sharing methods.

The founder of edozo, Marcus Ginn, said: “It’s an exciting time to be bringing something cutting edge to the north as the technology scene is going from strength to strength and the Northern Powerhouse is gathering momentum.

“Our innovative platform modernises the way that crucial information about property deals, known as comparable evidence, is shared.

He added: “This enables surveyors to find the accurate information they need more quickly.’’

edozo will serve as a social network within the industry, creating an online community for the region’s commercial surveyors.

Daniel Harris, the director of Manchester-based property consultancy Daniel Harris & Co, said he believes the sector has needed a service like edozo for some time.

He explained: “Being able to access accurate evidence much quicker and also share information that we have with other companies in a secure and reliable way will save us time and help ensure the accuracy of our work.”

Last year saw the network launch across the Yorkshire region.

One property professional who has used the network since the beginning is Colin Hunter, the divisional director at the Leeds office of property agency Lambert Smith Hampton, who said: “I can’t do my job without accurate comparable evidence and edozo is the place to find it.”
