Record number of businesses to support Liverpool at international property conference

A record number of business leaders representing the Liverpool City Region have joined a delegation to attend this year’s MIPIM, the international property conference held at Cannes.

In total, 36 partners from the city’s private sector have stepped up to support the event this year, in comparison to the 27 who supported Liverpool at the conference in 2015.

The group of new sponsors includes developer Carpenter Investment, construction group Morgan Sindall, port operator Peel Ports, property investment firm Signature Living and architecture practice K2 Architects.

Sean Beech, the chairman of the Liverpool MIPIM steering group, said: “The city’s delegation is made up of businesses that are eager to support the city and to promote it as a great place to do business.

“This year we will once again be speaking to high level investors who have their eye on Liverpool as a destination and we will be highlighting the many attributes that the city has.”

Other businesses announced as 2016 sponsors include development partnership Northpoint, estate agent Savills and technical services giant AECOM.

Max Steinberg, the chief executive of regeneration company Liverpool Vision, commented: “We are extremely pleased that the private sector in Liverpool has once again shown its support for the city at MIPIM.

“The delegation has increased by 33% from 2015, which is fantastic for the city and we are very optimistic that we will make 2016 an even greater success.”

He continued: “We are very proud of our city and the fact that so many private sector businesses have pledged their support for Liverpool is testament to its suitability in terms of attracting high level businesses and international investment.”

Promenade Estates, the Liverpool-based property developer, is another new sponsor at the MIPIM event.

The company’s chief executive, Peter Hynd, said: “We are delighted to be part of the city’s delegation at MIPIM this year. We believe that Liverpool is a great city to invest in and we look forward to supporting the city and spreading the word, especially at a time when so much is happening from a property and investment perspective.”
