Starbucks Coffee and Savers plan for Medway stores.
The national chains, Savers and Starbucks coffee have both put plans forward to Medway Council to open some stores in Medway.
Starbucks Coffee have applied for an advertisement consent for a store to be opened within Chatham at Pier 5. Pier 5 is also home to Zippers, Creams and the recently opened TruGym. The Starbucks is believed to be undergoing work and it is known to be opening in March. This is according to their franchise owners website, GK Coffee, who are based in Gravesend.
Savers have also released plans for two new stores in both Strood and Rainham. Savers are planning to open in Strood where Shu-Time is currently based. It has not yet been announced when the current store will be closing for Savers to become the new tenant. The health and beauty store, who are owned by the same company as Superdrug, have also released their plans to open in Rainham Shopping Centre. This is at the unit that used to be home to HSBC bank. The planning applications were only submitted a couple of weeks ago and therefore they have not been approved yet.
