North East hospitality operator to create 25 new jobs at newly acquired hotel

The Inn Collection Group has announced it will create 25 new jobs in Durham, following its acquisition of city centre venue The Kingslodge Hotel.

The North East hospitality operator purchased, which purchased the site earlier this month, is currently conducting refurbishment work on the property. The new owners are looking to recruit both fulltime and part-time opportunities for front of house, bar staff and kitchen team.

Existing hotel employees have transferred to the new ownership but a need exists for additional catering and hospitality staff for other areas of the business.

The refurbishment of the ground floor will not only create two additional bedrooms but also expand the business with the current separate restaurant area becoming an integral part of the new Kingslodge Inn.

Sean Donkin from The Inn Collection Group, said: “We are very pleased to be opening our first city Inn. We have safeguarded the jobs of those staff employed in former hotel.

“However our plans to develop the site mean we need to recruit more talented hospitality people for both the kitchen and front of house areas, and would ask anyone interested in working for The Inn Collection Group at the new King’s Lodge Inn, to contact us as soon as possible”.

The Inn Collection Group also owns the Lindisfarne Inn near Holy Island, The Bamburgh Castle Inn at Seahouses and The Hog’s Head Inn at Alnwick, The Seaton Lane Inn near Seaham as well as The King’s Head Inn at Newton under Roseberry in North Yorkshire; as well as the soon to open Commissioners Quay Inn in Blyth.
