Suprafilt relocates to 42,000 sq ft facility in Rossendale

North West manufacturer Suprafilt is set to triple its workspace by moving to a new base in Lancashire.

The firm, which creates aeration systems for water treatment industry organisations such as Thames Water and Severn Trent Water, will relocate its team from Rochdale to the 42,000 sq ft Sagar Holme Mills facility on Burnley Road, Rossendale.

Suprafilt will create four new jobs as part of the expansion, bringing its employee count to 24.

In 2015, the company achieved its best year to date after securing a £2.3m project with Yorkshire Water in Hull and another worth £2m with Thames Water at Deephams

Jonathan Lord, the operations director at Suprafilt, said: “This move is a significant milestone in the history of the business. It underlines the progress we have made in recent years.

“We are on course for record turnover and investing in this new facility will mean we are well placed to continue to grow.”

He continued: “The mill is ideal — it requires some work to transform it to meet our specific needs — but it is an ideal location for the business.

“It gives us the capacity to take on the new staff we now need and gives us the opportunity to work on much larger projects. There’s an internal crane system which is ideal for our requirements and will allow us to work more efficiently.”

The leader of Rossendale Borough Council, Alyson Barnes, welcomed Suprafilt to the valley.

She commented: “As a council, we support new businesses coming to the area.

“We would like to offer Suprafilt a warm welcome to Rossendale and encourage them to get in touch if there’s anything we can do to help them settle in.”
