Be Wiser Insurance launches debt-free degree course
Be Wiser Insurance is reinforcing its commitment to training with the launch of the country’s first insurance degree – which will provide debt free learning for students.
The BA Hons Insurance will be officially launched in Andover on Friday March 18 and the degree is being billed as a key milestone in the insurance industry.
“We are passionate about supporting the social and economic wellbeing of individuals, especially young people, living in the local area,” said Crescens George, Director of Learning and Development at Be Wiser Insurance which has offices in Andover and is due to open one in Swindon.
“We have already established ourselves as a leader in the field of training and recruitment in the insurance industry and a degree course was the natural extension to our business.”
Recruitment is now open for the course which has been accredited by the University of Chichester and will be run at Peter Symonds College in Winchester starting this September. It sees Be Wiser become the first financial services company ever to offer a degree programme combined with relevant work experience.
Up to 40 students each year are expected to enrol on the three year course and will spend four days a week working at Be Wiser and one day a week at Peter Symonds College.
The debt-free aspect will see students take out a student loan which will be repaid by Be Wiser on successful completion of the course and final placement within the expanding company.
The degree programme is being showcased at a one off event at The Lights in Andover on Friday March 18. ‘Sugar Coat Your Future’ will be a chance for attendees to gain more information on how this unique programme works and how they can be part of it.
Attending the event will be Mark Wright, 2014 winner of BBC’s The Apprentice, who will be sharing his business knowledge along with Matt Clatworthy, UK Sales Director from Compass London Markets (Lloyds) who will provide insight into the world of risks.
