Cabfind.com shuns Uber threat to corporate market in six-figure relocation

Cabfind.com, the UK’s biggest provider of transport-on-demand technology has said that Uber is “no concern” to the corporate travel sector as the company moves to new standalone premises to meet demand.

Speaking at the recent Business Travel Show in London, commercial director of Cabfind.com, Debbie Thompson, said:

“Uber is a disruptor in the private hire and taxi sector but is not having as much an effect on the B2B market. Cabfind.com is a truly nationwide business and we reach parts of the UK Uber isn’t yet in. We still hold a competitive edge in terms of our supplier network, which is unrivalled within the UK. Demand for our managed ground transportation service is at its highest recorded levels, hence our need to move to bigger premises.”

In one of the largest office deals in Birkenhead in the last two years, Cabfind.com will relocate a short distance away to its new, two floor 10,689 sq ft home at 12 Quays House, Egerton Wharf under a ten year lease.

Managing director of Cabfind.com, Chris Jordan, commented:

“We had originally planned to bring our team together to occupy one complete section of our current home within Egerton House in Birkenhead. However, since our acquisition by Transdev PLC we have quickly determined that a much bigger space will be needed as we recruit more staff to meet the needs of the business. We hope to create 20 new jobs in this year alone.”

Commercial director of Cabfind.com, Debbie Thompson, added:

“Since becoming part of the Transdev PLC portfolio, Cabfind.com has seen a 20% increase of staff thanks to four recruitment drives to meet the level of demand for our logistical services. It was important to bring our teams together in one new, inspiring space as we enter an exciting period of further growth and innovation. With cabfind.com working under Transdev PLC, our new headquarters needed to reflect the truly international nature of our business as it looks to expand into new markets.”

In February 2015, Cabfind.com was acquired by one of the world’s leading transport companies, Transdev PLC. Investment by the parent company has enabled Cabfind.com to increase the supplier network of its unrivalled fleet of private hire vehicles across the UK, in turn providing more journeys for its increasing portfolio of corporate clients including major rail networks, retailers, travel management companies and local councils.

Cabfind.com has enjoyed a year of notable success since its acquisition including a win this February at the 2016 UK Rail Industry Awards. Crowned Subcontractor of the Year, Cabfind.com were the only transport-on-demand company to be shortlisted in the awards that recognise innovation and excellence demonstrated within the rail industry.

The relocation, a six figure investment by the business, will see Cabfind.com move into its new modern offices which are positioned along the Wirral Waters development with excellent links to both Mersey tunnels, train stations and the Wirral ferry terminal. The new 10689sq ft building spans two floors with private 32 space car park.

Acting on behalf of Avon Capital Estates, commercial property agents Legat Owen and Mason & Partners undertook a comprehensive refurbishment to create high quality office accommodation over two floors.

Speaking about the deal, William Sadler, director at Legat Owen, said:

“Following the departure of the previous tenant, Avon took the wise decision to invest in the property to bring it up to an extremely high standard and have been rewarded with this letting, which is one of the largest office deals to have been completed in Birkenhead since 2014.”
