Future Energy Are Here To Stay

This morning saw the release of a new report by the Competition and Markets Authority putting forward plans to reform the energy industry.

One of the key points in the report is that there are still a lot of customers on standard variable rates with their supplier and have yet to look into the options available from other firms, many of which are smaller independent companies.

Tim Cantle-Jones, Managing Director of North East based Future Energy, has indicated that whilst many people remain sceptical about the future of smaller independent energy companies, he is declaring that Future Energy can offer consumers in the north east a fairer, more transparent option.

“The report is great news for smaller independant energy suppliers like ourselves, it is encouraging customers to consider companies outside of the big six, which have held such a large percentage of the market for so long.”

“The CMA are looking to promote choice for the consumer and we see it as a positive step towards businesses like ours being able to take our fairer, more transparent pricing to more customers across the north east. We’re already aligned on that, and have been since our launch last year, before the report was published which demonstrates our intent to change things.”

One of the key recommendations in the report is that energy providers to better communicate if there is a better deal out there for the customer, Mr Cantle-Jones explains that Future Energy is already communicating this with their own customers.

“Since our launch last year, we have contacted a few of customers when we have noticed that there is a better package for them. Sending an email takes seconds but it could potentially mean a huge difference financially to our customers. We see it as providing as much value to out customers as possible.”
