Newcastle-based chartered surveyors wins tender for MEA House
Gavin Black & Partners has won a tender from the MEA Trust to act as sole agent for MEA House, a 27,000 sq ft office development space within Newcastle city centre.
Chris Pearson, partner at the Newcastle-based chartered surveyors, says he is pleased to be linked with such a prominent office building, which has been developed by The MEA Trust to provide affordable office space in Newcastle City Centre for charities.
“We are delighted to have been appointed on such a high profile and worthwhile project,” revealed Mr. Pearson.
The 1970s MEA House provides high quality, fully accessible, affordable office space for charities, local community interest companies, industrial and provident societies and other forms of social enterprise at below market rates.
The five-storey,located at Ellison Place, also provides a provides suite of meeting rooms on the top floor as well as office space.
Chris Pearson added: “Several thousand people pass through its doors every year and it currently houses more than 15 organisations, from national charities to local community groups, including CISV International, Action for Children, VONNE and Newcastle Society for Blind People.
“We currently have a wide range of office suites available in the building from 300 sq ft to 3,500 sq ft, all of which offer a very attractive office environment including a manned concierge, a range of modern facilities such as meeting rooms and an Auditorium, and a recently upgraded quality specification air handling system throughout.”
Ann Wynn, Trust Director and Secretary for The MEA Trust, said: “We were impressed with the Gavin Black presentation and the resulting energy which we anticipate will be applied to the marketing of MEA House and look forward to welcoming new tenants into the building.”
