Allied London’s Michael Ingall awarded Ambassador of Year

ALLIED London’s Chief Executive, Michael Ingall has been awarded the prestigious Ambassador title at the Business Masters Awards 2016.

Michael, who has previously featured in the Sunday Times Debretts 500 most influential people, was presented with the special award for his outstanding leadership, vision and commitment to business in Manchester over the last 21 years.

The judges recognised Michael as someone who has gone beyond the call of duty to support the region – particularly in his role in creating Spinningfields in the heart of Manchester city centre.

Michael said: “It’s an honour to receive this award and to be recognised amongst such inspiring business minds across the region. We’ve been operating in this city for 20 years and have continually performed. We are a particularly tight-knit team at Allied London who have put a lot into Manchester. “We don’t really see ourselves as a property developer but as providers of infrastructure which enables businesses to grow. What we are going to be doing for the next 10 years is to be providers of valuable business infrastructure.” Ingall went on to say: “We’ve had enormous acceptance as a London company and I think the reason we’ve got such a good partnership with the people and the city of Manchester is that we’ve delivered and you’ve delivered and if we go on doing this together, the next 10 years will see Manchester take the next step.”

Spinningfields has become one of Europe’s leading business quarters as well as one of Manchester’s most popular destinations to work, eat, drink and shop. It serves visitor numbers of over 5.5 million people per year, as well as housing an ever-growing office population of over 17,000 resident workers, and a retail and leisure turnover in excess of £80million per annum.

John Stevenson, Managing Director at financial planning consultancy Pareto FP, presented Michael with the Ambassador Award at the Midland Hotel last night.

He said: “From Spinningfields’ conception in 2000, Michael Ingall and his Allied London team have been pioneering the development of Manchester’s city centre ever since.

“Visionary in his approach, Michael not only has a real affection for the city of Manchester but also a palpable passion for ensuring the city creates places that put it on the international stage. He is hugely ambitious and has the same ambition for Manchester to firmly embed itself as the UK’s second city. He is a deserved winner of this title and it was a pleasure to be able to present him with this award.”

Allied London has recently purchased the iconic London Road Fire Station which they will transform into an international asset for Manchester and will begin work on their new St. John’s neighbourhood later this year.
