UK security specialists win major $5.9m surveillance contract with US Federal agency
Brimtek, the US subsidiary of UK-based surveillance and security specialist Digital Barriers has secured a $5.9m (£4.16m) contract with a major US Federal law enforcement agency.
The deal with the unnamed law enforcement agency will see the US subsidiary offer specialist surveillance equipment to the agency.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) are all cornerstones of the United States’ federal law enforcement and represent three potential clients in the deal.
Brimtek, who were acquired by London-based Digital Barriers this month, specialise in state-of-the-art, tailored surveillance equipment to federal agencies, military clients and the security industry.
Chief Executive Officer of Digital Barriers, Zak Doffman said: “This contract with a strategically important US government customer illustrates the strong relationships and reputation enjoyed by Brimtek in the highly specialised US security marketplace.
“Both Digital Barriers and Brimtek have long-standing relationships with this agency who are procuring our class-leading EdgeVis Live video technology on an ongoing basis.
“Although the contract does not include Digital Barriers’ solutions on this occasion, it is clear the combination of our unique capabilities and Brimtek’s sectoral credibility has served to strengthen this relationship.
“Today’s contract award highlights the rationale for our acquisition of Brimtek, which will enable us to sell and deliver progressively more of our technologies into the US surveillance market.”
