Kii to enable Smart City solutions in India
Kii, the leading Internet of Things (IoT) platform provider, has announced it is bringing its IoT platform, experience and expertise to enable smart city solutions in India. Kii kicks off this effort at the ‘IoT in Smart City’ conference on March 18th, 2016 in Hyderabad, India. The event (organised by Kii partner Ideabytes) brings government and industry together to discuss smart city strategies and execution to help realise India’s ‘100 Smart Cities’ vision.
“The mission of smart cities is to vastly improve the lives of people by addressing some of the challenges that cities face,” says Masanari Arai, CEO, Kii. “We believe that smart city initiatives such as smart street lighting, smart transportation, smart utilities etc will significantly help to reduce costs, increase revenues and optimise consumption of smart city services. We intend to work with government officials at city and regional levels, as well as the rest of the smart city industry ecosystem, to help carry forward India’s smart city initiatives.”
India’s Smart Cities vision is broad and complex and Kii will play an active role in implementing this vision. Kii enables customers across the globe to rapidly create compelling IoT solutions in a wide range of scenarios, from smart homes to smart cities, with its scalable, easy to use, feature-rich world-class IoT platform.
“We are thrilled to be partnering alongside Kii for their commitment and strategy execution for the Smart Cities initiative,” says George Kongalath, CEO, Ideabytes. ‘The IoT in Smart City’ conference is a good starting point for government and industry to come together to discuss smart city strategies and implementation approaches.”
Kii’s IoT platform supports all components of a typical smart city solution:
- Smart city sensor/device/gateway components through Kii ‘device agents’ that provide cloud enablement and bi-directional data flow between devices/sensors and cloud
- Smart city middleware through the cloud-based ‘core backend and analytics’ layer of the platform that provides data, user and device management, as well as big data analytics and optimisation
- Smart city apps and services through the platform’s APIs and SDKs.
