DevAcademy urges IT students to strive for success!

North East company, Dev Academy, urges IT and Digital students never to give up on their chosen career paths.

Newcastle based IT training and resource provider Dev Academy, has helped to catapult the careers of individuals in the region’s thriving tech sector by developing their skills and knowledge in IT. The North East company aims to offer prospective software developers an alternative route into the technology industry, by delivering an 8-week unique coding course that prepares students for entry-level jobs within some of the region’s largest IT organisations.

Computer forensics graduate, Karl Wynn, said “After graduating university I joined Dev Academy in 2014 to learn new skills. After 8 weeks of training, I was taken on as a trainee developer earning a competitive salary and over 12 months, I gained crucial work experience. I’ve since been offered a role with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and I’m looking forward to furthering my career with them.”

Ollie Conlin, former Dev Academy graduate offers advice to anyone wanting to get into the sector, “If you lack higher education qualifications, don’t think that this industry is closed off to you. That is simply not the case. Your passion and determination can be just as effective at getting you the job.”

After helping more ambitious developers land their dream roles at IT providers within the North East, Dev Academy are urging hopefuls to continue striving for success. Rachel Peacock, Managing Director at Dev Academy said, “We understand the challenges facing those less experienced in the sector. However, there are a number of ways to break into the industry and young people shouldn’t give up without exploring all of their options. We believe the Dev Academy is such a great opportunity for people looking to kick start their digital careers and we want to encourage more people to get involved.”
