Go-ahead given for £18m residential scheme in Altrincham
Plans for a luxury residential scheme in Altrincham have been given the go ahead by Trafford Council.
Following the decision, Salford-based developer Real Estate Investment Partnerships Ltd. will build the £18m Alexandra House development on the corner of St John’s Road and Ashley Road.
The scheme’s 40 apartments and townhouses will comprise a mix of one-, two- and three-bed apartments ranging from one to three floors, in addition to six one-bed houses.
Alexandra House will also include a subterranean 86-space car park and landscaped communal gardens complete with a croquet lawn.
Work on the project, which is designed by architects Ollier Smurthwaite, is due to begin in July this year and expected to take around 12 months to complete.
Real Estate Investment Partnerships Ltd’s CEO, Stephen Slater, said: “We’re thrilled to have passed the planning stages of this development and are moving ahead with turning this public eyesore into a residential development worthy of its premium location.
“Getting on site and turning this corner of Bowdon around is our next priority.”
He continued: “We’re committed to ensuring that the building complements the local environment whilst putting its own stamp on the area, and have been working with Trafford Council for over a year to achieve this.”
Development consultancy Paul Butler Associates’ Tom Flanagan advised on planning and heritage, while Irwin Mitchell Solicitors represented Real Estate Investment Partnerships Ltd. during the planning process.
