Newcastle digital agency Orange Bus acquired by Capita PLC
Newcastle-based digital agency Orange Bus has been acquired by business process outsourcing giant Capita PLC.
With Capita putting an increased focus on extending its digital offering, the acquisition will strengthen its capacity to provide digital solutions for both new and existing customers. The deal means that G2G3 Digital, Capita’s existing digital design agency, will be merged with Orange Bus.
Mark Sutherland, Chief Executive of G2G3 and G2G3 Digital, explained his delight in securing the services of Orange Bus to boost the strength of the firm’s digital capabilities.
“We are thrilled that Orange Bus is coming on board. We are always looking to extend our capability and reach in the digital arena, and the acquisition of a specialist digital solutions agency like Orange Bus will enable us to increase our scale and reach to design and deliver ever more innovative projects for our clients.
“They have been delivering some incredible work for their clients – including Capita – and we look forward to working with them more closely.”
Orange Bus, which employs 75 people across two sites in Newcastle and London, provides services ranging from app design, web optimisation and improving user experience.
Working in both the private and public sector, the firm’s client list currently includes brands such as Joules and Barbour, as well as organisations like HM Revenue and Customs.
Julian Leighton, Chief Executive of Orange Bus, said: “Joining G2G3 and the wider Capita Group is the ideal next step for the team at Orange Bus, giving us the scope to continue to grow.
“As part of G2G3 we’ll be able to offer a broader range of services to our clients – and Capita’s track record of nurturing the many businesses it acquires speaks for itself.”
Capita revealed that no jobs would be lost at Orange Bus as a result of the deal although financial details of the acquisition could not be disclosed.
