Katie Weldon and Sam King, Carter Jonas

Property consultant Carter Jonas has appointed a marketing co-ordinator and introduced the new role of new homes co-ordinator to its residential team based in Harrogate.

Following the launch in 2014 and subsequent growth of the new homes division, Katie Weldon has been promoted to the role of new homes co-ordinator. Katie has held the position of marketing co-ordinator at Carter Jonas for the past two and half years. Before this role, Katie worked for a specialist recruitment agency before making the move into property.

In her role as new homes co-ordinator Katie will support new homes manager Anne Haggas across an extensive portfolio of projects across Yorkshire including The Old Police Station in Harrogate and the Side Beck Grange development in Addingham for Mulgrave Properties.

Sam King joins Carter Jonas as the new marketing co-ordinator. Sam graduated from York St John University where she trained to be a teacher before working in various schools across the region including Ashville College. Following a year in Australia where she worked in real estate, Sam returned to the UK. At Carter Jonas, Sam’s role will involve working closely with the residential team to help promote its properties across the region.

Sam said: “I am really excited to take the next step in my property career and join a well-respected company such as Carter Jonas. The property market will be very different from Australia but I couldn’t think of a better place to work in property.”

Her enthusiasm, passion and eagerness to learn will be a welcome addition to the office. We also congratulate Katie on her promotion to new homes co-ordinator. Both Sam and Katie are from Harrogate however Katie now lives in Wetherby.

Cathy Cook, LCF Law

Law firm LCF Law has expanded its corporate division with the appointment of Associate Cathy Cook.

Cathy, who has over 20 years legal experience with a strong emphasis on retail, lives in Leeds and will based at the firm’s Sovereign Street office in central Leeds.

Cathy previously worked for International law firm Addleshaw Goddard and was the head of company and commercial law at regional firm Jordans, as well as working in-house at Leeds based Callcredit.

Susan Clark, who heads up LCF Law’s corporate team, says: “We generate 20 per cent of the firm’s turnover and are a very busy, professional corporate and commercial team that is well-known in Bradford, Leeds, Ilkley and more recently Harrogate, having merged with Barber Titleys.

“Cathy’s appointment will strengthen our team to five highly respected solicitors, and her knowledge of the retail sector will be a welcome addition to the services our thriving department provides.”

As well as working for clients in the Leeds area, Cathy will also be responsible for business development South of Leeds. Cathy said: “I am very much looking forward to my new role at LCF Law which understands law inside out. Although situations can often be complicated and confusing, LCF Law ensures that the legal advice doesn’t have to be, and that’s a great ethos.”

Tracey Bromley, Future Life Wealth Management

A new financial planner has joined Sheffield-based Future Life Wealth Management.

Tracey Bromley joins from Heartwood Wealth Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Handelsbanken, where she was client director for South and West Yorkshire.

Tracey, 50, who started her career at HSBC, has also worked for the private bank Coutts and J P Morgan.

Future Life is based in Renishaw and offers a bespoke financial planning service to generators of wealth, typically business owners, executives and professionals, and also to receivers of wealth, such as inheritors, divorcees, widows and retirees.

Managing director, Jillian Thomas, who is also president of Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, said she was delighted to take on Tracey.

“Tracey has the experience and calibre we need to continue to provide excellent services to our clients,” said Jillian.

Tracey, who lives near Selby, added: “I joined Future Life because of Jillian Thomas and the fantastic team she has behind her.”

Bridget Dickinson, Nova Contracting

Leeds-based contracting specialist Nova Contracting has appointed Bridget Dickinson as Financial Controller.

Bridget, who is a qualified member of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), brings almost 20 years’ experience in audit, financial strategy, planning and team management to Leeds-based Nova Contracting, where she will be responsible for overseeing the accounts department.

She said: “Nova has built a very strong reputation in the contracting sector, so I’m delighted to be joining the team to oversee the company’s financial planning and continued growth.”
