Buyer secured for Lake District holiday homes
A cluster of self-catering holiday homes at Lorton Vale in the Lake District has changed hands following the owners’ retirement.
Real estate advisory firm Colliers International secured the sale of High Swinside Self-Catering Holiday Cottages to Kidderminster resident Diana Clark, who plans to relocate to Cumbria from North Worcestershire following the transaction.
Colliers acted on behalf of entrepreneurial duo Jacques and Hilary Hankin, who decided to sell the properties and retire to live locally.
High Swinside comprises a three-bed detached owners’ house and three self-catering furnished holiday properties that were converted from barns and farm buildings.
Haydn Spedding, an associate director of hotels and licensed property based at Colliers’ Manchester office, secured the transaction for an undisclosed sum.
He commented: “Diana is genuinely excited about the purchase and plans to significantly increase the annual turnover of the business by investing further in the holiday cottages.
“The sale was negotiated following the recent flooding of the Lake District and further underlines the confidence of purchasers in the Lake District as an iconic holiday destination.”
