New data released confirming Manchester’s top 10 most popular beauty bookings
SKV Communications has won the account to provide PR and communications support in the regions for Europe’s largest hair and beauty booking platform, Treatwell, as it rolls out across the UK.
The campaign to extend awareness outside London started with a Manchester launch event and media relations campaign in early spring.
Established in 2008, the website and app connects local salons and spas with customers online, allowing users to find the best venues, compare prices and book appointments online anytime, anywhere.
Treatwell’s announcement follows the completion of a seven figure rebranding effort by the London-based firm, previously known as Wahanda.
In 2015, Japan’s Recruit Holdings acquired a $220m majority share in the leading hair and beauty platform.
SKV will be working with the Treatwell team on a range of experiential activity, as well as blogger and press relations, as it rolls out across cities including Leeds, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin over the forthcoming months.
SKV Director Geraldine Vesey says, “Treatwell is an amazing brand with ambitious growth plans across the 10 countries it operates within. We are creating a range of events, marketing activity and communications tactics to engage with both customers and businesses as it expands into new territories.”
CEO and founder Lopo Champalimaud, former MD at lastminute.com, said: “We work with over 15,000 salons and spas across the UK and our city-specific strategy is paying dividends. Greater Manchester is one of our fastest-growing marketplaces and our focus has been well received with 400% growth in customer numbers and an ambition to double the volume of businesses signed up to Treatwell Connect.
“Treatwell Connect is our bespoke salon management software which allows owners to easily take bookings online, manage their calendar remotely and apply smart discounting to maximise revenue for off-peak slots.”
“Our website and app allows customers to easily book their favourite treatments at a time and price that suits them, while becoming a Treatwell partner helps position you where your customers are – online.”
SKV Communications has worked with the hair and beauty booking platform to release data to accompany its roll-out showing various cities most in-demand appointments of the last 12 months.
In Manchester body and Hollywood waxing ranked among the most popular treatments, while gel nails, spa days and deep tissue massage also appeared in the top 10. Customers in the city made the most appointments for the HD Brows treatment outside of Greater London.
