Small business digital drop-in in Newcastle tomorrow
A national campaign to encourage small businesses to become more digitally active is going on the road this week and will be in Newcastle tomorrow, Wednesday March 30th with a free drop-in session giving support and advice to small business owners.
“Do It Digital” is an independent, not-for-profit campaign that aims to show small business owners how they can benefit from becoming more digitally active. Their team will be at the Business & IP Centre at Newcastle City Library, New Bridge Street West from 10am until 12.30pm on Wednesday 30th March as part of the campaign’s first “100 Days of Digital”.
They will be offering help and advice, sharing success stories and recording video interviews with local small business owners about how they use or would like to use digital and online facilities more effectively for their businesses.
The Do It Digital campaign aims to help the digitally un-engaged take their first steps online whilst promoting opportunities for those already online to engage further and expand their digital horizons. This can range from having a simple web presence to taking the first steps towards selling online. The campaign says that digital engagement is crucial for all aspects of business, from sales and marketing to recruitment, stock control, banking and accounting.
“Digital engagement will become increasingly central to the development of competitive, profitable and growing businesses,” explains Campaign Director Michelle Ovens MBE.
“We are coming to Newcastle to provide some hands-on advice on the day but also to point small business owners towards practical support that is available to them.”
Although independent, the Do It Digital campaign is being supported by Nominet; the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills; HMRC and the Cabinet Office.
