Prominent figures from across the region’s engineering and business sector will come together next month to celebrate the industry’s successes at the prestigious Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Yorkshire Regional Dinner.

The event, which will take place at Sheffield’s Cutlers’ Hall, is once again being sponsored by Elevation Recruitment Group – an organisation which recruits on behalf of a number of high-profile clients within the engineering industry across Yorkshire and the Humber.

This is the 4th time that the group’s specialist engineering and manufacturing division has co-hosted the dinner, which is attended by past and present IMechE presidents, local dignitaries, businesses, IMechE members and guests.

Taking place on the evening of Friday 15th April, the celebratory event will combine networking opportunities with a number of presentation ceremonies, as well as keynote speeches from the current IMechE President, Professor Richard Folkson, as well as Master Cutler, Craig McKay and the IMechE Yorkshire Region Chairman, Dr Peter Ingham.

This year will also see commemorative certificates resented to members who have become a Fellow of the Institution or who have achieved Corporate Membership within the past year.

John Bohan, Senior Director at Elevation Recruitment, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the IMechE Yorkshire Regional Dinner – a fantastic event recognising some of the achievements of its members and of the region’s engineering and business sector.”

The company is also once again sponsoring and presenting the IMechE Yorkshire Region’s Speak Out for Engineering award and the winner will be revealed on the night. The competition was established in 1964 and is organised by the IMechE’s Volunteer Network with a view to giving young engineers the chance to demonstrate their public speaking and visual presentation skills.

Heats were held across Yorkshire in the run up to the event, with the final scheduled at Elevation Recruitments headquarters on Saturday 9th April.

Bohan added: “Elevation is proud to support this event as it not only allows young engineers to gain confidence for future roles but also provides a platform for the industry to showcase talent.

“It’s great to be involved with an event that sponsors and encourages future leaders of the industry.”
