Peshwari Property Hot’s Up In Nottingham

Nottingham played host to one of the biggest property events of the year today, as five local businesses collaborated to make industry knowledge and networking more accessible than ever before.

Over 60 landlords and business people attended the Peshwari Property event on March 30th at the Mewar Haveli Restaurant, for free Indian cuisine, open networking and a chance to ask a panel of experts a range of property conundrums.

Organised by Ilkeston based Poppy-PR, the expert panel played host to Michael Sahota director at MS Estates, Nigel Parry and Giles Inman from EMPO, and Gareth Clarke from Talk Green, who advised on a variety of issues from EPC’s, stamp duty changes and legislative changes.

Managing director at Poppy-PR, Tina Clough, said: “In the past we have attended many specialist one-off property events, and unfortunately some are not very well attended. To receive 60 confirmations in the space of one week is phenomenal, and we were up to capacity. We hope to run another one in a few months time.”

Attendees included city surveyors, lettings agents, investors, financial advisors, training providers, and representatives from the local media.

Michael Sahota talked about stamp duty changes, capital gains tax, and lifetime ISA’s, he said: “The event gave us the opportunity to answer some of those burning questions, which both seasoned and ‘want to be’ landlords wanted answering. It also kept landlords and other property professionals informed of recent changes which may affect their business.

It was a good way for us to show that we have the knowledge, experience and tools to deal with property matters.“

Hoping to promote Mewar Haveli for venue hire and corporate events, Suraj Pathak, owner of Mewar Haveli said: “We were delighted that this event was filled to capacity. We wanted to invite local business people to our premises in a bid to show them our amazing facilities and the quality of the food on offer. We hope that those who attended will consider us for their corporate events and Christmas parties.”

Giles Inman, Business Development Manager at EMPO said: “We were delighted to be invited to sit on the panel at this event, and advise local property investors on a range of topical issues. We used this as an avenue to promote the upcoming East Midlands Landlord & Letting Agent Expo, which is also all about helping residential landlords understand their responsibilities in terms of providing decent & safe homes.”
