Jesmond joint venture a thing of beauty for young entrepreneurs
Young entrepreneurs Luisa Scott and Mark Summers have partnered to house a joint venture in Jesmond, Newcastle.
Luisa, 35, is celebrating her second year in business at Newcastle Skin Clinic and has recently expanded her company onto its own floor at 68 Jesmond Road West.
Vacating her basement floor premises, where the firm began, she has attracted hairdresser Mark to move in with his MAS Hair Extensions venture.
Mark, 24 from Morpeth, is a Great Lengths hair extensions specialist who previously ran his studio from Osborne Road but is now able to grow his clientele, which includes famous Newcastle celebrities and models, by working alongside Luisa.
Luisa is a beauty therapist and nurse who has worked in prestigious Harley Street and top people’s store Harrods, and returned home in 2014 to set up a specialist medical aesthetics clinic.
Originally from Gateshead, Luisa launched Newcastle Skin Clinic in Jesmond to offer techniques and treatments from Botox, fillers and lip enhancement through to specialist treatments for problem skin.
Luisa said: “I’m a qualified nurse specialising in skin treatments and I wanted to bring a piece of Harley Street back to the North East.
“It’s been a fantastic two years and my client list is growing so fast I need more space to work with. Rather than give up my basement lease, I knew I wanted to surround myself with other complementary therapists – Mark is so well-known and liked by a lot of my customers so he was a perfect match.”
