New Company Has Designs on Pre-Loved Designer Accessories

An exclusive new company, which buys and sells pre-loved designer bags such as Michael Kors, Gucci and even the famous £50,000 plus Birkin bags much loved by the likes of Victoria Beckham, has launched in the North East.

Lux Trader, the concept of entrepreneur and Grainger Games founder Stephen Bowyer, buys unwanted high end handbags, shoes and watches, which will soon be offered for sale on its website and new store locations around Newcastle.

And now the company wants to hear from people keen to sell their luxury belongings, with a minimum retail value of £100, for cash.

Would-be vendors fill in a form on the Lux Trader website, upload an image of their item and receive a quote from Lux Trader in return.

The business has a ready-made network of retail outlets through the Grainger Games and Trade Nation stores, and customers can then drop the items off at any of the six chosen branches across the region. Payment will be made once the item has been authenticated by a team of experts.

“We have worked hard over the last 2 years developing our Lux Trader systems and expert processes. It’s been a hard set up, but I am now very happy that we can launch Lux Trader and offer the best service possible for customers interested in high end designer items” explained Stephen.

“Wardrobes across the North East are full of designer bags and accessories that are no longer worn or wanted. And there are thousands of people who would just love to snap them up.

“Lux Trader makes selling these pre-loved goods easier than ever, because, unlike auction sites, there is no haggling and none of the risk associated with dealing directly with strangers. We have a professional team which can provide a quote straight away and, providing the item is genuine, they will honour that quote.”

“In terms of the business model, Lux Trader is similar to Grainger Games in that it is buying pre-loved items and then selling them on,” said Stephen, “only, in this case, the items are designer branded!”

Customer Lauren Hillary said “I went on the website to get a quote from Lux Trader for a Prada bag which I no longer used. The process was really easy and because I was happy with the price online I took the bag into the shop to be authenticated. The people were really lovely and I received far more than I expected to. I would recommend Lux Trader to anyone who has a bag or designer accessory they no longer use – I’m going to use the money I got, for my next designer purchase!”

The current drop off points for items that have received a quote from Lux Trader are:

Trade Nation, Unit 2 Gibside Way, Metrocentre Retail Park, Gateshead;

Trade Nation, 15 Gilkes Street, Captain Cook Square, Middlesbrough;

Grainger Games, 5b Waterloo Place, Sunderland;

Grainger Games, Unit 4, Bridge House, North Road, Durham;

Grainger Games, Unit 4, North Tyne Industrial Estate, Benton, Newcastle;

Grainger Games, 207 Whitley Road, Whitley Bay.
