Seddon to create £2.5m builders’ merchant facility in Manchester
Construction and maintenance firm Seddon has unveiled plans to create a new builders’ merchant centre on the site of a former food processing facility in Manchester.
Known as Checkpoint, the £2.5m scheme will include the construction of a 19,000 sq ft unit and storage yard just off Altrincham Road, close to the Sharston Interchange on the M56.
The project is being led by Bolton-based Seddon’s developmental arm and built by its construction business.
Jamie Seddon, the MD of Seddon Developments, commented: “Development opportunities of this scale and proximity to the Greater Manchester conurbation are increasingly rare.
“We are very happy to offer a unique proposition to companies looking for new facilities and production centres that are easily accessible and connected to the region.”
With work already underway on Checkpoint, the facility is due for completion by September 2016.
Last month, Seddon began working on its £2.1m project to revamp the former home of the Ladybarn Social Club in Manchester.
