Sungard AS Appoints Susan Lynch as New CFO

Sungard® Availability Services™ (Sungard AS) named Susan Lynch as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer. Lynch brings more than 20 years of experience to Sungard AS in CFO and senior finance roles within the technology, aerospace and defense and industrial manufacturing industries. Most recently, she was executive vice president and chief financial officer, Global Information Solutions at Hitachi Ltd., a $6 billion worldwide division that is Hitachi’s focal point for storage infrastructure solutions, software and consulting services.

Lynch is experienced leading financial transformations within global, high-growth organizations and will be responsible for all aspects of financial management for the company’s global business including tax, treasury, investor relations, controllership and financial planning and analysis. Lynch, based out of the company’s global corporate headquarters in Wayne, Pennsylvania, will report directly to Andrew A. Stern, CEO.

Sungard AS, a leading provider of information availability through managed IT, cloud and recovery services, has more than 7,000 customers in North America, Europe and India and operates approximately five million square feet of data center and operations space globally. Since becoming an independent company in April 2014, Sungard AS has prioritized growth of newer solutions such as Recovery as a Service (RaaS), Cloud and Enterprise Managed Services, shifting focus from its traditional recovery services as customers increasingly move infrastructure and applications to the Cloud.

Before joining Hitachi Data Systems in 2007, Lynch served as vice president and chief financial officer at Raytheon Technical Services Company where she was responsible for all facets of the organization’s financial strategy, planning, management and accounting. Before Raytheon, Lynch held a broad range of senior management roles at Honeywell International, including assistant corporate controller, Global Business Services, director of business, analysis and planning and chief financial officer for the Latin American region.

Lynch holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) in Olathe, Kansas, and was voted Alumna of the Year by the school in 2006. She is a Certified Public Accountant. Lynch was recognized as Female Executive of the Year at the 2013 Stevie Awards, which honors women in business.
