Client returns to Pierce for Kare Plus Franchise Launch

Pierce Group’s corporate finance and accountancy divisions have supported Lancashire businesswomen Sumaiya Patel to launch a Kare Plus franchise serving Blackburn and Burnley.

Kare Plus is one of UK’s largest franchised nursing staff providers. The franchise will initially concentrate on providing nursing staff for hospitals and care homes, expanding to include domiciliary care staff later this year.

The franchise will service Blackburn and Burnley, plus the surrounding areas* and the new branch office will be located at Cobham House, Blackburn.

Miss Patel worked in a chain of local opticians for over 15 years, which she fully managed and which was eventually sold through Pierce in 2008. She also owned an online optical retail business, which was also sold through Pierce.

She said: “I’m proud to be bringing Kare Plus to Blackburn, Burnley and the surrounding areas. It’s a well-respected business that provides only top quality staff. I’m passionate about working within my local community and this opportunity gives me the chance to ensure local people get local jobs caring for local people and the elderly.

“I investigated a lot of franchise opportunities, but Kare Plus appealed to me as I wanted to stay within the healthcare sector, but take on something new. I like a challenge and look forward to servicing my local community.”

Pierce Chartered Accountants, Blackburn, provided Miss Patel with VAT and tax advice in relation to the franchise launch. They previously helped Miss Patel with the sale of her online business.

Miss Patel added: “Having used Pierce when selling my previous business, I knew I would receive a professional, knowledgeable and friendly service, so there was no question of me using them for this franchise deal.”

David Sharpe, a director at Pierce Group, Blackburn, said; “Having worked with Miss Patel eight years ago, it’s a pleasure to work with her again. That she has come back to Pierce is a testament to the strength of the team here and we’re really honoured that she chose to work with us again.”

* The surrounding areas include Colne, Padiham, Accrington, Nelson, Brierfield, Oswaldtwistle, Rishton, Great Harwood, Whalley and Longridge.
