US decking firm Trex to expand in Europe with B&Q partnership
US decking manufacturer Trex Company is looking to expand its presence in Europe after forming a new partnership with home improvement chain B&Q.
As part of the deal, Trex will see its eco-friendly outdoor living products made available in more than 100 B&Q stores across the UK and Ireland.
The Virginia-headquartered firm, which has its UK base in London, is expecting the alliance to serve as a “significant potential growth driver”, according to its president and CEO, Jim Cline.
He continued: “We know that many consumers begin their search for decking at home and garden centres and we are pleased to be able to make Trex products available more widely to UK consumers and contractors through the strong B&Q network.”
B&Q will also make Trex products available via its online store.
Trex’s decking and railing is made of 95% recycled materials, including industrial wood scraps and recycled plastics.
