Emily Cannell, Mincoffs Solicitors

Mincoffs Solicitors has promoted family lawyer Emily Cannell to the role of Associate Solicitor, recognising her commitment to her clients, her department and the firm.

Emily joined Jesmond based Mincoffs Solicitors in 2012 to work alongside esteemed Family lawyer, Lyn Rutherford. After graduating with a First Class Honours from Northumbria Law School, Emily returned to her hometown, where she undertook a training contract with a prominent commercial law firm.

Emily manages a full and challenging case load, dealing with all matters arising from relationship breakdown including Divorce, financial matters, private law children matters and cohabitation disputes.

She is the Treasurer of the Young Resolution (North East) Committee and is also the Young Resolution representative on the main Resolution Committee and is noted for her ‘in-depth research’ by the Legal 500.

Speaking about her promotion, Emily said: ’’I am delighted to have been promoted to an Associate Solicitor and I am excited about the future here at Mincoffs.“

Hannah Mattinson, Silverbean

Digital marketing agency Silverbean has appointed Hannah Mattinson as Senior Paid Marketing Manager.

Formerly of Urban River and Mediaworks, she joins the Newcastle-based firm as a Google accredited marketer in AdWords and Analytics and has recently been shortlisted as one of Google’s ‘Women in Search’.

Hannah, who graduated with a BA Hons Marketing Management degree from Northumbria in 2011, has also won two industry awards (Northern Digital Award for Best PPC Campaign and a European Search Award for Best Local PPC Campaign) for a campaign ran with a previous client, Newcastle College.

She said: “The demand for paid marketing is growing every year and it’s a really exciting industry to be a part of, especially in an agency with a great client base and relationships to match.

“The way consumers purchase online is changing, so integrating traditional Google search pay-per-click campaigns with YouTube, apps, social and beyond presents a great opportunity for our clients to be at the forefront of their customers minds.”

Paul Walker, Tyne and Wear Metro

Tyne and Wear Metro has appointed Paul Walker as its new Customer Service Director, who joins the team following almost 13 years in customer-focused roles at RWE npower.

Paul said: “I’m incredibly customer-centric. That’s always at the top of my agenda – how can I create the right environment for my team to deliver the best service for our customers.

“I feel privileged to be part of the team at Metro. The Metro provides such an important service to the people of the region and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. My team and I are here to make sure that our customers get safely from one place to another in as quick and efficient way as possible.”

33-year-old Paul added: “I wanted to be part of something that was in the North East and belonged to the North East. I wanted to work with customers where their experience and their presence was real.”

Leanne Jeffrey, The Inn Collection group

A General Manager has been appointed for Durham’s newest pub, The Kingslodge Inn by The Inn Collection group.

Leanne Jeffrey, from Whitley Bay, has over 20 years’ experience in the industry both in the north east and abroad. She has been Deputy Manager at The Inn Collection Group’s Hog’s Head Inn, Alnwick, for the past year and is looking forward to taking on an exciting new challenge in Durham.

Leanne Jeffrey, said: “I am really looking forward to making The Kingslodge Inn a welcoming place. The new Kingslodge Inn will offer facilities for everyone. We want to establish The Kingslodge Inn as an important part of the offer to tourists in Durham City but equally we are looking forward to welcoming Durham residents as regulars as well as cyclists and walkers. Even dogs will be very welcome both in the bar and in the accommodation.”

Eric Tully and Anthony Lowery, Bilfinger GVA

Professional consultancy Bilfinger GVA has strengthened its Building team in Newcastle by the appointment two additional Senior Project Managers.

Eric Tully, a former Equity Director at Summers Inman joins to increase their capability on their portfolio of large scale project management instructions. Though based in Newcastle, Eric’s initial focus will be to assist the Leeds team in delivering a new facility for Leeds College of Art.

He has a wealth of experience through his 27 years at Summers Inman and, more recently, at Identity Consult in Sunderland.

This appointment is in addition to that of Anthony Lowery who takes up a position of Senior Project Manager. Anthony joins from GE Pipelines having worked with Faithful & Gould, a JV between Kier and North Tyneside Council and as a Design Manager and Architectural Technician with various Architectural practices.

Gordon Hewling, Senior Director and Head of Building at the Bilfinger GVA Newcastle office, commented: “These are two further key appointments within our 10 strong Building Surveying and Project Management team here in Newcastle.

“In addition to our broad range of building surveying instructions, we are currently engaged on project management, cost consultancy and building projects with a total value in excess of £200 million throughout the North East and beyond”.
