Airbnb and Samsung location data experts raise £17m in Series B funding
Advanced location data tech specialists Blis have sealed $25m (approx. £17.4m) in Series B funding.
The new investment comes from new investors including Dutch investment firm Endeit Capital alongside Beringea US and Unilever Ventures, and additional credit facilities provided by Silicon Valley Bank.
Blis, which provides location-specific data and advertising, is to use the new investment cash to fund its continued expansion in the US, as well as scale its international sales and marketing and develop new product features.
The London-based firm, which was founded in 2004 and has offices worldwide, has worked with a range of big clients in the past including Airbnb, Samsung and Sony.
Following the successful closure of its Series B round, Greg Isbister, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blis, commented: “We firmly believe that location technology is the future of digital advertising and we’re delighted to have received significant funding to support our expansion. The investment recognises the unique value of location and Blis’ market-leading data platform.”
As part of the investment, Martijn Hamann, Partner at Endeit Capital, will join the Blis board of directors along with Mark Donnelly of Beringea US and Ian Lane at Unilever Ventures.
Martin added: “Blis has created a leadership position in the global market through its pioneering use of location technology. At Endeit Capital, we’re always looking to support genuine innovation and so we’re excited to be working with Blis as the company enters the next phase of its development.”
