Bolton Wanderers will learn from mistakes, says club chairman
The new chairman of Bolton Wanderers, Ken Anderson, has promised fans that the club will learn from its past mistakes.
The Championship side was taken over last month by ex-Trotters striker Dean Holdsworth’s Sports Shield consortium and Mr Anderson’s investment network Inner Circle, in a deal worth £7.5m.
Now, the chairman has promised to find a more secure footing both on and off the pitch, according to the BBC.
Speaking to North West Tonight, Mr Anderson commented: “Our initial job is to make sure we perform on the pitch and then make sure we get our finances in order and give the best opportunity to go forward.
“As I sit now I’m the current custodian, along with Dean, at this club and we’ve got to try and change things and not repeat the mistakes of the past.”
He added: “Fans are happy if things perform well on the pitch, if they don’t they’re very unhappy.”
Currently nursing debts of just under £180m, the club have already been relegated in the 2015/16 season.
