Ossett printing firm creates new jobs with £345k machinery investment
An Ossett-based printing company has invested in its production line and created five new jobs after securing funding worth £345k from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Kuhnel Graphics offers a range of printing services including large format flat-bed, roll fed digital and screen printing solutions to commercial and retail customers across the UK.
Recognising the need to expand its services and reduce demand on existing machinery, the business has invested in a flat-bed digital printing machine and a digital cutting table using an asset finance facility provided by Lloyds Bank.
The investment in the technology is expected to boost the business’ capacity over the next 12 months, increasing yield by 20%. The business has also made two new hires and will be recruiting for a further three over the next three months.
Simon Kuhnel, co-owner of Kuhnel Graphics, said: “In our industry, digital technology is constantly evolving so it’s important that we invest in machinery that allows us to meet customer needs and create the top-quality we are known for.
“Lloyds Bank has worked closely with us to identify a funding solution that will enable us to achieve our ambitions. I look forward to working with the team in the future as we plan for further growth.”
Alan Kerr, regional manager, Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance, added: “Kuhnel Graphics is operating in an ever-changing market so it’s important they have access to the finance that enables them to compete.
“The asset-finance facility we’ve provided will allow the business to maintain a healthy cash flow while it invests in assets that will substantially bolster its production capacity, helping it capitalise on heightened customer demand.”
Gary Whitaker, manufacturing relationship manager of Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, also commented: “Through our knowledge of the business and of the sector, we’ve been able to provide a funding solution, tailored to the business’ needs.
“We’re committed to helping manufacturers across the UK succeed and realise that to do that, we need a firm understanding of the markets in which they operate.
“All of our manufacturing relationship managers receive training at Warwick Manufacturing Group to help them understand and meet the needs of businesses in the sector.”
