Yorkshire specialists host Exporting is GREAT events

EXPORT specialists in the region are to share their tips and advice in free sessions being run as part of Exporting is GREAT Week 2016. Chamber International is supporting the UK-wide initiative which runs from April 18-22, organised by UK Trade and Industry (UKTI).

The Government’s Exporting is GREAT scheme aims to encourage both new and experienced exporters to explore fresh opportunities as part of the drive to inspire 100,000 new exporters.

Chamber International, the Yorkshire-based export specialist, is organising activities including a TwitChat to give exporters an opportunity to ask questions about the mechanics of exporting goods including top tips on tariffs, regulations, procedures, origin, payments and who to turn to for help.

The TwitChat is on Monday, April 18 from 10am-11am when businesses are invited to put questions to an expert panel for instant advice and solutions.

To take part, send your questions in advance to trade procedures manager Alison Holmes at alisonh@Chamber-international.com, by direct message on Twitter to @ChamberInt or just by using the hashtag #AskCITeam.

In addition, Chamber International’s senior associate David Attia will be presenting to delegates at Breaking Barriers: Succeed Overseas, a free seminar on Tuesday, April 19, at the Queens Hotel, Leeds.

He will explain to delegates the services and support offered to businesses by Chamber International, from advice to a complete export service.

David said: “Chamber International and UKTI share the goal of boosting the local economy by increasing the number of businesses in the region who export, either by inspiring and supporting novices embarking on their export journey, or by helping to open up new markets and customers to existing overseas traders.

“Taking part in Exporting is GREAT Week is an ideal opportunity to share Chamber International’s huge export expertise and to make businesses aware of the level of support and assistance we can offer as the local international trade department.”

David will also introduce Verder UK’s Kenneth McCartney, who will talk about his Castleford-based business and how Chamber International has helped not only with export documentation for the specialist pumps Verder manufactures, but with providing contacts in markets as diverse as India and Saudi Arabia.

The event runs from 9am to 2pm and there will be interactive seminars providing practical advice and support on how to develop export strategy, how to research markets and achieve global success, how to access the support available and how to discover real business opportunities across the globe.
