Housebuilder gives AGM trading update

James Watson, managing director of Persimmon Homes North London has welcomed a 12% increase in the number of people visiting the region’s developments compared to last year.

On the day of the company’s AGM in York, James said the business was committed to delivering new family housing at affordable prices to people in the region looking to purchase their first home or move up the property ladder.

“Demand remains high for our homes and we have a very healthy order book as we go into the second quarter of 2016.

“Total forward sales revenue, including legal completions taken so far in 2016 stand at 8% higher than last year at £2.15 billion for the company as a whole. In total we have 7,598 new homes sold, with a national average selling price of £220,000.

“Here in North London we are currently creating homes across the region in places including Luton and Uxbridge. Going forward in 2016, we will soon be starting to build in Chalfont St Peter, Sutton Courtney and Thame.

“Our success means that we are able to create jobs locally both directly at our head office in Maidenhead and indirectly through our growing supply chain across the region. I would like to thank all of these people as our success is truly a team effort.”

The business will continue its thriving Community Champions programme in 2016. So far the company has donated money to the Kosher Meals Service, Sequela Foundation and many others. Small groups and charities can apply for a donation by visiting www.persimmonhomes.com/charity.
