Croatia and Bulgaria added to Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s summer routes for 2017

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is launching two new summer routes to Croatia and Bulgaria as part of TUI Group’s 2017 summer programme.

Dubrovnik in Croatia and Burgas in Bulgaria will be added to the current TUI roster giving an extra 11,000 departing seats.

The addition of Dubrovnik means that the airport now serves all of TUI’s short haul cruise destinations.

Chris Harcombe, head of aviation development for Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We are delighted that TUI have added these new routes and with so many extra seats for summer 2017.

“Both destinations complement TUI’s existing leisure routes with us giving great choice for people to fly locally for their summer break.

“This will mark TUI’s third consecutive year of growth and reflects our work with our incumbent airlines to identify growth areas for the benefit of our passengers.”

The new routes will supplement TUI’s extensive range of destinations across Spain, Cyprus, Greece and Portugal and offer flexibility to travellers on its Dalaman, Turkey route.

Due to the recent opening of Great Yorkshire Way, the new £56m link road to the airport at junction 3 of the M18, passengers are travelling to the airport from further afield, with 6.2 million people now within an hour’s drive of departing on their summer breaks.

The cruise itineraries from Doncaster Sheffield Airport with TUI include trips on the Thomson Celebration, the TUI Discovery which is a brand new ship launching this Summer, Thomson Majesty, Thomson Spirit – an adult only ship and the Thomson Dream.
