Camerons Brewery to create 14 new jobs as Head of Steam expands into Hull

Camerons Brewery, the ninth largest single brewery in the UK, is continuing to roll out its expansion plans for its Head of Steam brand with the addition of a new venue in Hull.

The site of the former Purple Pig venue, located on Kings Street in the Trinity Quarter area of Hull will become the brewers 9th Head of Steam venue this summer.

As work is set to begin at the venue in mid-May, the brewery plan to open the new Head of Steam towards the end of June. 14 new jobs will be created following the refurbishment of this site.

The Head of Steam will have 12 keg lines with a selection of rotating craft beers from UK and world brewers, 8 cask ale lines including beers from the North East and the Yorkshire & Humber area plus a selection of cocktails, spirits and soft drinks.

Chris Soley, chief executive at Camerons Brewery, said: “We have been looking at a number of new locations to setup our Head of Steam brand and the East Yorkshire area was one location we were keen to explore.

“Hull is developing into a very vibrant city and with it achieving the prestigious honour of being the UK City of Cultural in 2017 we felt it was the ideal time to launch our brand here.”

“Camerons brands have always been well received in the area so we are delighted we can have a pub in the city to showcase these alongside the portfolio of great beers available in our Head of Steam pubs.”

The news of the Hull development follows Camerons’ recent openings of Head of Steams in Headingley and Sheffield this April.
