Wates Living Space Homes relocates Leeds office to expand new build business
National developer, Wates Living Space Homes has moved from its former Leeds office at Gelderd Road to support its ongoing expansion in the new build housing market.
The business, part of the Wates Group, has taken up residence at Leeds Valley Park, which has now become the Yorkshire and North East base for the 187-strong Wates Living Space Homes team.
The move follows the Wates Group’s announcement of the integration of its new build homes and land developments businesses, which has created a combined residential division in the housing market.
Wates Living Space Homes’ portfolio in the region currently includes Hull City Council’s £80m PFI extra care housing scheme in addition to a number of partnership housing developments across Yorkshire and the North East.
The developer is also delivering Newcastle City Council’s £13m Central Walker retirement village development and recently completed Gordon Place, a collection of 45 new homes and a 67-unit care home in Wakefield on behalf of Chevin Housing.
Mick Holling, business director for Wates Living Space Homes, commented: “Our business is in an extremely progressive period as we look to integrate our new build residential and development businesses, a move that will see our presence in the new build housing market grow significantly.
“The government has set itself some extremely ambitious targets of building at least 200,000 new homes a year until 2020 and the customer-focused development services that our business is built on will be fundamental to fulfilling this commitment.
“With almost 120 years of experience creating high quality homes that transform communities, our team’s expertise and solid reputation places Wates as a trusted partner that has continued to evolve to meet housing needs across the country.
“Our move to the new office at Leeds Valley Park comes at an exciting time and is a crucial step in accommodating our expanding project portfolio, providing a perfect platform for our future growth.”
