Europa Off to Flying Start in Heathrow Facility
Ambitious logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group, has expanded its air freight division, by investing in new, larger offices for its Heathrow site which will provide a 60 per cent increase in capacity.
This is the latest announcement from the forward-thinking company, following a period of rapid investment and expansion. The air freight division saw double digit volume growth in strategically targeted markets year-on year in 2015, such as China and the US, coupled with the division’s 23 per cent increase in sea freight volume.
The Heathrow operation is now based at Viewpoint in Staines-upon-Thames, just two miles from its previous site and just 10 minutes away from Heathrow Airport.
Angus Hind, Director of Europa Air & Sea, said: “The new facility provides us with the room for future expansion which we’ll need if we are to continue at the rate of growth we’re currently experiencing. Recent strategic gains and continued investment in our services and partner network has seen us go from strength to strength and has landed us on good footing for our big ambitions for the future.”
The Heathrow branch of Europa’s Road freight operation will also continue to benefit from the new site’s key transport links to the M25, M1, M3, M4 and M40. The move will further support the division’s growing service portfolio and European partner network while it implements an ambitious 2016 investment programme to rollout 10 new European routes this year. So far, routes have been launched to Salzburg, the Baltics and the Balkan States.
Dionne Redpath, Director of Europa Road, said: “The new facility provides the growth potential we need as we continue with our expansion plans and programme of investment in our Road product offering. It’s also a great benefit that both our air and road functions operate from the same premises and it’s no accident that we have significantly grown our gateway activities, particularly as our air and road product portfolios expand and work harmoniously together. Customers, old and new alike, really value our proximity to one of Europe’s largest air cargo hubs, alongside access to our UK and European road network, which allows them to operate a seamless global supply chain with slick, efficient, market-leading transit times.”
Europa Air & Sea became a dedicated division in July 2014 to better service customers and meet the demands of a growing amount of freight business. Europa is now able to offer what is effectively a 24-hour line haul product from its operation in Hong Kong. On arrival in the UK, shipments are handled and split in its Heathrow facility before being distributed nationally and internationally on behalf of a number of postal operators and integrators.
As well as its successful air & sea and road freight operations, Europa Worldwide Group also provides specialist warehouse and showfreight services.
