East Riding of Yorkshire Council award J Tomlinson second contract worth £1.4m
Contractor J Tomlinson has been appointed for the second time by East Riding of Yorkshire Council on the organisation’s kitchen replacement contract.
The company recently completed a three-year, £3m programme to install new kitchens in approximately 1,500 homes for the council.
Now the firm has been re-appointed for a further three years to replace between 500-600 additional kitchens a year, with an estimated annual value of £1.4m.
A council spokesman said: “The feedback we have had from residents has been excellent and we have been very pleased with the standard of work, and the cooperation and support we have had from J Tomlinson.”
The latest contract is already underway and will cover homes in The East Riding of Yorkshire Council area.
Pete Woods, operations director at Nottingham-based J Tomlinson, commented: “Being appointed to a second contract on a similar programme by East Riding of Yorkshire Council is a ringing endorsement of the quality and standard of work that J Tomlinson achieves, and I am proud to hear such praise for our team.
“We are looking forward to working once again with the council and with tenants to improve residents’ homes by updating and installing new kitchens.”
J Tomlinson is currently helping a number of organisations to upgrade their housing stock, including Ashfield Homes in Nottinghamshire, Derwent Living in Derby and Midland Heart in the West Midlands.
Based at Beeston, near Nottingham, the company provides a range of integrated building solutions across the East Midlands, West Midlands and Yorkshire, including construction, refurbishment, repairs and maintenance, mechanical and electrical engineering (M&E), and facilities management.
