Manchester businesswoman Karina Jadhav to create 50 jobs with new £1.5m restaurant
North West entrepreneur Karina Jadhav has revealed plans to establish a £1.5m restaurant and bar in Manchester city centre.
Karina, the mind behind a number of restaurants in the region, including Neighbourhood in Spinningfields and the Victor’s eatery in Hale, will create 50 new jobs with the launch of the new dining venue at One New Bailey.
Set to be known as Menagerie, the 200-seater restaurant will combine gastronomy with art and performance, drawing inspiration from Karina’s experiences travelling across the US and Europe.
Discussing her latest venture, Karina said: “Myself and the team are very excited to see the plans for Menagerie come to fruition following many months of hard work.
“The opening will provide a vital opportunity to introduce a new wave of experiential vibrant dining to Manchester, which really represents my personal evolution in the industry.”
Commenting on the restaurant’s name, she added: “A menagerie is a collection of the enticing and exotic, which is exactly what my concept will bring to Manchester.
“It’s all about every aspect of the guest’s experience.”
Menagerie will take up 6,000 sq ft on the ground level at the One New Bailey office and leisure scheme.
The site was developed by the English Cities Fund (ECf), a joint venture between Muse Developments, the Homes and Communities Agency and financial services firm Legal & General.
Phil Mayall, a development director with the ECf, said: “One New Bailey is a new hub for business and leisure so we are delighted to welcome Menagerie on board. We wanted to bring a dining experience unlike no other in Manchester so partnering up with Menagerie made perfect sense to us.
“We firmly believe that the New Bailey development is strengthening the city’s business and leisure value through its pioneering building One New Bailey and future exciting developments.”
Menagerie is due to open in late Summer 2016.
The Mayor of Salford, Ian Stewart, commented: “New Bailey is a key element of our innovative growth plans which are increasing the economic vitality and competitiveness of Salford and Manchester’s expanding city centre.
“The New Bailey riverside location is providing a thriving leisure, business and commercial quarter and Menagerie’s opening is exciting news.”
