Stagecoach voted top for value for money

Stagecoach has been voted the best bus operator in the country for value for money, according to a recent passenger survey.

The independent passenger survey by the national body representing bus and rail passengers, Transport Focus ranked Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire 1st out of 50 bus providers in England for providing value for money for fare paying passengers.

The survey also considered boarding times, bus stop satisfaction, bus drivers’ attitude, journey times and journey comfort; with Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire achieving an outstanding 90 per cent customer satisfaction overall.

Elisabeth Tasker, managing director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire said: “We’re delighted to have been voted the best bus service in England in terms of value for money.

“Providing a comfortable, quality and fairly priced service is our number one priority and we are so pleased to have received this positive level of feedback. We’re continuously developing our services in line with the needs of our customers and have recently implemented several changes to our ticket offering to encourage more people to try the bus.

“We’re really pleased that our passengers have recognised our efforts to provide a first-rate, cost efficient bus service.The business is particularly focused on ensuring that our younger passengers are able to benefit from inexpensive travel. We’ve put our under-19 ticketing structure into place to help to remove the cost barriers which can prevent young people from benefitting from public transport.”
