Visit Top North East Attractions for Less
FAMILIES enjoying a spring break in the North East can now visit some of the region’s top attractions for less.
Holiday letting agency Cottages in Northumberland has joined forces with leisure clubs, tourist sites, restaurants, bars and shops, to offer holidaymakers a selection of discounts and savings.
Visitors who stay in any of the Newcastle-based agency’s 160 coastal, countryside and city properties throughout Northumberland and Tyneside, are sent a pack containing coupons and vouchers to be redeemed at a selection of venues.
Among the perks on offer are discounts on entry to both Alnwick Castle - ancestral home of the Dukes of Northumberland and the setting for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films – and the spectacular Alnwick Garden.
There is something for sports lovers, too, with reduced prices on kayak and bike hire at Cullercoats and the chance to try racquet sports, such as tennis, badminton and squash, at a special, guest rate at The Northumberland Club, Jesmond, Newcastle.
Families can enjoy a two for the price of one deal on bowling at Namco Funscape at the intu Metrocentre, Gateshead, or come face to face with sharks, seahorses and stingrays at Tynemouth’s Blue Reef Aquarium for a £2 discount on admission prices.
And those in need of pampering can enjoy use of the spa and leisure club at award-winning Doxford Hall Hotel, along with a 10 per cent discount on beauty treatments costing £20 or more at Brogan’s Beauty at Seahouses, Northumberland.
Pubs and restaurants in the region are also taking part, with Purdy Lodge at Belford and St Mary’s Inn, Stannington, both offering deals for Cottages in Northumberland’s holidaymakers.
“The North East has a vast amount to offer holidaymakers by way of activities and entertainment,” said Cottages in Northumberland’s Director of Operations, Angela Mazingham, “and this way, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of days out without breaking the bank.
