SweetTree appoints director for its brain injury service

SweetTree Home Care Services has appointed experienced brain injury case manager and social worker, Erika Turner, to head up its specialist brain injury service.

SweetTree, which has offices in central London and Richmond, provides support at home for individuals with a wide range of care needs. The company is the largest provider of community-based services for people with brain injuries and long-term neurological conditions in the UK. Its brain injury service is commissioned by more than 50% of London based local authorities, as well as the NHS, insurance companies and private case managers.

As director of brain injury services, Erika will be responsible for reviewing the current service and leading on its development and expansion into new areas, including the provision of care for children.

She joins the team having worked for the last six years as a case manager for NeuroHealth Case Management Services based in London. Prior to this she held central and local government roles within children and family teams in London, with responsibility for policy development, service review and improvement, as well as quality assurance.

Commenting on her appointment, Erika said: “I’m delighted to join the team at SweetTree. It is a values-driven organisation that has a fantastic team culture and remains strongly committed to providing quality care.

“My new role presents many new challenges and opportunities for me and I’m looking forward to leading on the development of the brain injury service, while ensuring it continues to provide the highest quality care possible.”

Barry Sweetbaum, SweetTree’s managing director, said: “Erika’s experience is exceptional and will be invaluable as we look to enhance and expand our brain injury services.”

He continued: “Life after a brain injury, or the diagnosis of a long term neurological condition, is often challenging and confusing. Our highly skilled team work towards improving the quality of life for clients, in order to support each individual to reach their full potential. Our fundamental focus is high quality care, supporting wellbeing, growth and development. We make this vision a reality by employing the best people and by adopting a team approach to the provision of our services.”
