Warehouse deal sees AO.com double Crewe operations
Household appliances retailer AO.com is expanding its North West footprint with a new distribution facility in Crewe.
The Bolton-headquartered firm, which already operates a 360,000 sq ft warehouse in the Cheshire town, has snapped up a further 386,753 sq ft of distribution space.
AO.com has taken the additional space at the Crossflow380 site on Weston Road on a 10-year lease.
The company was represented by real estate services firm Savills.
Jonathan Atherton, Savills’ industrial director, said of the transaction: “We are pleased to have completed this significant acquisition to facilitate the continued expansion of AO.com.
“Crewe has firmly become AO’s logistics base for the UK, offering both connectivity to the M6 and a strong local workforce. Both factors influenced the decision to expand in the town.”
The site’s owner, Prologis, was unrepresented in the deal.
